Due to a change in personal circumstances I have very little time to ride my boy and am looking for someone who might want to ride him. I'll continue to take care of all his other needs etc like feeding but just want to keep him in some work rather thn let him get fat and lazy.
He's a 10yo TB that I bought 2 years ago as a beginners horse. Before I had him he was used for a disabled boy and occasional trail ride. I hadn't ridden in over 15 years after fracturing my spine and have never had a problem with my boy when riding. He's very slow and lazy and is happy to just plod, walk and trot with the occasional canter. He is a pure pleasure horse and cannot jump due to a stifle issue. His ground manners were less than desirable when I got him but a year of netual horsemanship have worked wonders. Although he can still be pushy at feed times.
He is located in Baldivis on St Albans Rd in 30 acres mainly in a herd environment. They don't have an enclosed arena but there is a flat sandy area we ride in so you would need to feel safe riding in that type of environment.
If you enjoy just hanging out with a horse, grooming and hopping on for a leisurely ride this could be your boy.
He is quite green but smart & quick to learn and always tries so hard to please. I rode for nearly a year in just a halter (even on the roads) so he is OK in either that or the bit. He has a soft mouth and is ridden in a 17.5 Wintec AP. He is excellent with dogs, babies/kids, have ridden out on main roads with no dramas whatsoever, kangaroos etc.
I am a heavy set girl (105kg) and having watched him I tend to think he prefers someone solid on his back (not sure if tiny light people remind him of jockeys and his racing days).
Please email me if you're interested with details of your experience. I may eventually sell him depending on how my circumstances pan out.
I would consider leasing him out providing you had a good propety to keep him on and I could visit and occasionally ride..
